This is a tough one. My first thought was The Time Machine (2002), but I'm not sure if that's because I liked the movies all that much or because I liked the book. My second thought was Minority Report (2002). There are others, but those are at the top of the list.

Got to be Blade Runner (1982), predictable I know but "time to die." Then again it could be 1984 for the rat scene, though it's really the present in the UK.

Escape from New York (1981), even tho it's set in 97 or so. "snake plisken? i heard you were dead."

OhMiGod, Brazil (1985). Hands down. Terry Gilliam is a genius. I've been meaning to write you guys and recommend that for a show, but damn. Have you seen this movie?!

That's a tough one, man. Do I have to choose one? Okay then. Tank Girl (1995). Cult classic, feminist, crazy and great soundtrack.

Tough choices on movies, but Delicatessen(1991) was a good one. or The City of Lost Children (1995).

I kind of feel like watching the Mad Max trilogy (1979, 1981, 1985) .....I wonder what that says about my mood ? :)

Is a very good list! Would recommend all. The only ones I haven't seen are A Scanner Darkly and Children of Men. Actually, City of Ember would have come to mind, if not for the flashes of FallOut 3 I had while watching... Think the flashes made that movie better ;)
Just one 1984 mention is a cryin' shame.
(just leaving this comment here for a chance to win a shirt.... I know, I know, shameless commenting)
Since The Matrix is my favorite movie of all time, it's my favorite movie featuring a dystopian future. The first sight of the field of pods was amazing, and the extended universe created with The Animatrix, The Second Renaissance, is awesome.
LOL!
I really thought more people would've picked 1984...
Second Renaissance is my favorite story set in the Matrix!
Soylent Green.
It's lovely and warm, the city is full of lovely, friendly people and the food is just yummy!
Oh MAN! SJ! That's a great pick!
It's really too bad that generations of people will never get to see that movie without the ending being spoiled...
