21 - Give Blood. Watch 'Let the Right One In'.

And the hits just keep on coming!

So, just because this is our first NON-ZOMBIE horror flick, doesn't mean it's not still about the undead! Vampires are all the rage these days, and we're not above capitalizing on it too! Just don't expect any angst or romance here. 'Let The Right One In' is straight up CLASSIC horror, like old school Bram Stoker style... just set in the 1980's... and in Sweden...

You'll certainly want to watch this film before Matt Reeves remakes it ala [•REC]/Quarantine...

This also marks WEEK FOUR of our Last Exit to Nowhere t-shirt giveaway! Watch the episode to find out how to get entered!

Great video! The movie is actually not set in a "small, quiet mountain town", but in a suburb to Stockholm called Blackeberg. Greetings from Sweden!

Hey Ludvig, thanks for dropping the comment.
I think our wires got crossed as the remake is going to be SUPER rural according to rumors on production, so naturally I just figured the original was secluded too.

This film was on my radar for a long time prior to release, excellent film. I'd like to agree with your review 100%, but I haven't watched Twighlight yet - funny uh!

Well Matt, see, I can't really endorse the watching of 'Twilight' unless you KNOW you want to see adequate performances mingled with poor direction and substandard editing, set in a supernatural romance designed to draw in angsty teen girls...

I'm being a little snarky here, but I actually kinda liked the first book (because at heart I'm an angsty teen goth girl I guess), but the movie took what I thought was the heart of the story and ripped it apart. Kinda like my first girlfriend...

So Twighlight is a MYWM, cool I can live with that ;)

Anyhow I'm still waiting on 'man bites dog' (short wait on lovefilm.com at the mo) your episode definitely pricked my ears up!

I'll be curious to see how they ruin New Moon by trumping up the action, but yeah it's an MYWM imo... Or maybe an MYSM...

Definitely check back in after 'Man Bites Dog'! One of those films I love discussing, and I'm always curious how it comes across...
