Freaky Four Halloween Hoe Down Poll!
Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 11:33PM To help us celebrate this time of year, we're asking for your help!
The entire month of October has been dedicated to reviewing Halloween themed films, but we still don't know what we're going to cover the actual week of Halloween.
We've been asking for your suggestions, and have the list narrowed down to these options.
Remember, we'll review the film that wins, so if it's a total stinker, you only have yourselves to blame!

May i make a request for the list that i think is a perfect Halloween movie that if your not doing all ready should be the? Trick 'r Treat (2008)
Five of these I've seen. One of which, caused some nightmares when I was a kid (watched it on TV. Not in theaters). Another two still gives me chills thinking about them. One was shot beautiful, and was more intriguing than scary. Then there's one that I preferred the third sequel over the first. This is a very good list, and a tough choice. :)
I was gonna suggest Trick r Treat which NO ONE saw because they refused to give it a theatrical run despite its huge cast. It also happens to be wildly inventive and awesome.

We watched Ginger Snaps after reading about it on a trip to Toronto. Interesting take on the werewolf story.
Haneke basically made Funny Games to make you feel bad about taking so much enjoyment out of brutal murders in other films like, say, Battle Royale, so he'd appreciate it if you watched it. If you enjoy it at all, he will have failed. Surprised that people have voted so much for it. Either they're as troubled by the propagation of violence as Haneke is or they really like it...

Many films get made to demonstrate our obsession with violence. Unfortunately as the culture acclimates, those films often get celebrated as a "sick thrill", then years later become mundane. The early film noir movement is a similar situation. They were made to shock us with tales of anti-social behavior, cautionary tales, but now we celebrate them. Movies like SAW take all the taboo out of extreme violence...
