The Podium - Loud Movie Theater Candy

The Podium

The Podium is an internet symposium where we give one person the stage to voice an opinion of their's on cinema. Do you agree? Disagree? Comments that agree must include a hearty "HARRUMPH!", and you can show your disagreement with a "RABBLERABBLE COUGH".

I love the movie theater experience.  Given the choice between renting a flick and going to a theater, I'll pick the Theater any day of the week.  But - we've all run into situations where a single person can ruin the experience for everyone else.  In the interest of keeping the movie theater experience alive, Juan came up with a....unique solution for one of the things ruining the experience.  Loud candy containers.  We originally posted this about 10 months ago to our Youtube channel, but considering that it's summer blockbuster time, we felt that it was appropriate to re-post it in this venue, The Podium.  Harrumph, Juan! --Marie B

We'd love to hear what opinions YOU have on all things related to cinema.  Drop us a line through the contact page if you have something to contribute to The Podium.  Come on, we KNOW you all have strong opinions1 ;)

A big and hearty HARRUMPH! This is one of my pet peeves as well. Not long ago I sat in front of some moron who insisted on rattling the last three milk duds in his box during the quiet parts of the movie. What is wrong with some people? What is wrong with theaters for not demanding candy manufacturers to design quieter containers? With people going out to the movies less and less you'd think they'd want to do whatever they can to make the movie going experience more enjoyable - or at least less annoying.

Thanks for that Yvonne!
Why should movie theater owners police? if fewer people go to the movies, they can just raise ticket prices right? Fewer people paying more should balance out...
/end sarcasm
