It really speaks to the level of awesome in our audience that this is quite possibly the most requested film we've ever had. To all those that have asked us to cover this film we say "Thank You" and "WHAT THE EFFING HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE‽‽‽"... but like in a good way... Cuz this movie is kinda rad...
See THIS is what you get when a movie is described as being one of Tarantino's faves, and the major plot point you find on the back of the box synopsis is that a WHOLE lotta Japanese school children are going to die... in really violent ways...

An movie that came out about a year after BattleRoyal with a similar "kill or be killed" game show theme is called Series 7: The Contenders. The production value looks pretty awful, but the insanity of it looks interesting.

But anyway, Battle Royale is one of my favorite movies of all time, so yeah. I really love your site, keep up the great work. For the record, The Lottery they mentioned is a short story by American author Shirley Jackson.

Yeah this movie came out way before the Saw, Kill Bill, Hostel gore fest movies... This was the height of Extreme Asian Cinema when we were getting all kinds of crazy shit like The Ring and Old Boy...
