70 - Come Take a Dip in the 'Swimming Pool'

Come on in! The water's fine!

This is a film that Juan's been trying to cover on the show since the beginning.

A French produced, sly, psychological thriller about a novelist, Juan couldn't convince Lee to check it out until he said one word.

Boobs.

The nice thing is that along with the boobs you really do get some fantastic story telling and heaps of drama. Let's see if Lee liked the scenes without boobs...

Hi guys and thanks for your great work!!!
Now... I don't really understand why you'd have any doubts about the national origins of this film. It seems very French to me.
For one thing, it's a film written and directed by François Ozon, French réalisateur, who also wrote and directed "Sous le sable" in 2001 with Charlotte Rampling, and "8 femmes" in 2002, with the some of the most talented and popular French actresses to date. Both movies were a huge success in France, not sure if they were equally as popular outside of France.
Now, although Charlotte is British, she lives in France since the 70's and got a honorific César (French Academy Awards) to reward her for her eclectic career.
The only thing British, apart from Charlotte's nationality, would be Headforce Ltd., a production company, which only existed for this movie and is only "in association with", compared to the "produced by" the other 4-5 French production companies. (see http://www.imdb.fr/title/tt0324133/companycredits).
That seems French enough.
Ou la la! That's way too much talking about French French French for me!
Cyril, and out.
