130: Soccer Episode! "The Damned United"
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 9:03PM Can you think of a GREAT Soccer movie that people missed? (No one missed Bend it Like Beckham).
Well we could only think of one, The Damned United, starring the brilliant Michael Sheen and many other brilliant actors.
It captures one of the true stories of English Football and does it in a terrific, somewhat non-linear way. And, yes, even Lee (who thinks Soccer is boring) ended up really liking it...but being Lee, he did have to be snarky about it. Check out the review below!

i don't follow football, but i liked those two films
Like Michael, I'm not a huge fan, but I have seen a few movies that happen to showcase the game:
My Name Is Joe - directed by Ken Loach
Shaolin Soccer - written, directed and starring Stephen Chow. Ok, it raked in a bundle in Hong Kong, but do YOU know anyone who's seen it?!
If y'all are going to be sticklers on your one rule, then I will submit, as a substitute, Looking for Eric, also directed by Ken Loach. A Ken Loach double feature!
I love Shaolin Soccer! It's the movie that made my tummy bloated! very hilarious! -Sarah-
Your website have very interesting article. I got knowledge from here. Besides that, your blog is so popular among the searchers from search engines glashutte original replica make you feel good . glashutte original replica is good!
I would also recommend Shaolin Soccer. It's one of my favourite movies.
For the second feature I would sort of grudgingly recommend Mean Machine. Not for it's greatness but the fact it's pretty much an English soccer rip off of the Longest Yard. In fact the only thing worth watching in the film is Jason Statham. (Not really selling it am I).
I suggest a movie called Victory (1981) that centers on soccer. Please check it out, I think you both would enjoy it.
They in reality provde the pre-addressed bring back subject material label towards your comfort to send return the purchased ring wholesale for anybody who's unhappy pondering the acquire that is certainly perfect benefit that could lure the shoppers to cz pendant. There's no doubt that you are in a position to integrate the standard of companies with your fingertips which have bangles wholesale.
I know I'm a bit late getting to this episode, but I would like to suggest Fever Pitch (1997) and a documentary The Other Final (2003).
Fever Pitch is based on Nick Hornby's autobiographical book of the same name about his obsession with the Arsenal Football Club. The Other Final is a documentary about a game played on the same day as the 2002 World Cup Final between the then 2 lowest ranked (FIFA) countries in the world, Bhutan and Montserrat.
