When you consider it's directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, and has an incredible 'Get Shorty'-ish cast, you kind of owe it to yourself to check out this often overlooked gem.

Happy Sunday! It's Movie Shout Out Response Time!

Yesterday's question was:

Which of the 42 films that we have covered HAD you missed?

We were really happy to see that many of you were familar with some of these amazing flicks. Check out your responses below:

I guess you mean which movies we've seen because of the show? If so ... Run Lola Run, Word Wars, REC, and The Omen is in my netflix queue right now.
Ryan C via Facebook

I missed Run Lola Run, and STILL HAVEN'T SEEN IT!!! What kind of person am I?!?
@JimmyDelicious via Twitter

Well that would be a lot, but there are a few I haven't even heard of; my dinner with melvin, the station agent and the informants, among others.BTW a lot of your movies have been on my "list".
Mudassir C via Facebook

i must say I haven't seen Pontypool, sounded to Welsh for me ;-). I get enough people calling me Welsh because of my name.
@Nebuchanezer via Twitter

Of the 42, I had seen only 4 before you guys covered them. Of the ones I hadn't seen before you guys covered them, my favorites were probably The Fall, The five obstructions and Primer.
Miek M via Facebook

3,8,10,13,14-19,20,23,24,27,32-35,39,42 - So quite a a few
@ealcantara via Twitter

Considering how many great episodes you have done, let me list the ones I have seen before you mentioned them:
'Night of the Living Dead',
'Primer',
'The Imposters',
'The Omen', ... See More
'The Man Who Would Be King',
'Dutch',
'Better off dead',
Noises Off,
Run Lola
Moon
Much shorter list than would be if I were to list those I haven't seen before you guys. :)
Jeff E via Facebook

i actually missed 38 out of the 42 ^.^
@Wrinkliez via Twitter

"Primer" is one of my favorite Indie movies of all time. Surprising how many people haven't seen. Made on an exrtemely small budget, with no CGI, the illusion of time travel is made believable and plausible. Thanks, guys, for recognizing this little film. All these other ones being mentioned, I have seen. Ta. -BB
Belinda B via Facebook

Since there are probably more movies I hadn't seen than I have, I'll just list the ones I had seen before I found this website.
The Fall, Brick, Primer, Fido, Princess Mononoke, Let the Right One in, In Bruges, King of Kong, Lola Rennt, Equilibrium and Moon. So I had seen 11 out of the 42 previously.
John I.G. via MYMHM Comment

I think the number of movies that I had seen before covered by MYMHM is about ten. Let's see: Five Obstructions, Run Lola, Noises Off, Man for All Season, Igby, Station Agent, In Bruges, Man Bites Dog, Better Luck Tomorrow, Brick. Ten. Exactly ten.
But, oh my! I can't thank the show enough for bringing me 'A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints' and 'The Fall.' Those were the two best movies I saw last year by a mile.
Andrew T via Facebook

We love bringing you films you haven't seen, but we are thrilled to hear about the ones you've caught. These films all deserve the attention. Now- if you need an idea for a good Sunday flick, we have a few suggestions. ;)
-The gang at MYMHM

It's Outhouse Vomits Response Time!...Woops, I mean Movie Shout Outs Response Time.

What is the best anagram you can come up with from a Movie title?

Your responses were hilarious! Check them out below:

Zombieland -> Z-Mob Denial?
This is really difficult.

John I.G. via MYMHM comment
Star Wars - Rat Warts. 82 Days Later! ;-)82 Weeks Later...i am brilliant at this!ok, 21 angry men ;-)
@Nebuchanezer via Twitter

Difficult one. I found http://wordsmith.org/anagram/ quite helpful.
The best one I could find was:
Inglorious basterds -- A Builder's Groin Toss...which reminded me of the under appreciated sitcom Duckman.
Miek M via Facebook

Wow... Start off with title: Let the Right One In
Then came up with a silly one, but then started from that. ended up with: Thirteenth Legion
Jeff//Dangershoes via MYMHM comment

The sequel to ALIENS = SALINE. Run with it Mr. Zombie. Oops, I'd better not give him any ideas.
@pjowens75

Anytime I think of anagrams i think of the Simpsons episode where Lisa is intimidated by the new smarter girl. "Alec Guinness, Genuine Class."
Michael F via Facebook

2001: A Space Odyssey / 2001: Easy Spacy Dose.
@andrewski via Twitter

I tried a few but my favorite is Leaving Las Vegas -- Vaginal Saves Legs. I think there's a good lesson learned with this one.
Tahleen "Dutch" from MYMHM

I have to admit that I also used Wordsmith.org. I'm not great at Anagrams. My favorite was for Pulp Fiction: Licit Fun Pop. I pronounce it "Lick it Fun Pop." :) Made me giggle.
Marie from MYMHM

So let's face it. I'm just not that clever when it comes to word play. When Marie and Dutch came up with this week's question, I kinda facepalmed a lil bit because I've always SUCKED at word jumbles. So instead of subjecting you to my lame attempts at movie title anagrams, I'm just going to share some of my fave finds.

'The Truman Show' = The Worst Human
'Solaris' = Air Loss
'Scream' = Scar Me
and most appropriately:
'Striptease' = A Tits Spree

And as a proud of me moment (with a little help from Wordsmith.org):
'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure' = Debacle Devil & Tunneller's Text
(Even using the apostrophe and ampersand!)
Juan from MYMHM

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at MYMHM!

It's also Sunday, so that means it's Movie Shout Out Response time!

Yesterday's question was:

In what movie that features the Moon would YOU most want to be a character?

Admittedly, this was an odd question, but - hey, we were curious and as usual you guys gave us some really fun responses. Check them out below:

2001 A Space Odyssey
Bob B via Facebook

whatever character has the sexiest space suit :)
@thescreamstress via Twitter

Hmmm, haven't really watched many movies featuring the moon. I guess, Futurama (2007)? Did one of their movies feature the moon or was that in the tv series?
John I. G. via MYMHM comment

My first thought was Stephen King's The Stand (1994) but then I thought "nahhhhh".
Lyle L via Facebook

Moonraker (2007) i reckon. some kinda sidekick to jaws. am halfway thru the Moon epi. loving it.
@here_comes_B via Twitter

Well, One would say American Werewolf in Paris (1997) ( I <3 Julie Delpy), but as cheesy as this sounds Superman 2 (1980) (Zod, Ursa & Non rocked)
@DangerShoes via Twitter

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) and work with the great Terry Gilliam.
@ChristopherE1 via twitter

i'd want to be in A Grand Day Out (1989), just think of all that cheese mmmmmm!

@Nebuchanezer via Twitter

I will have to go with the first Superman (1978). Gotta love the superheros!
Marie from MYMHM

Apollo 13 (1995)...but I'd probably want to stay on earth.
Juan from MYMHM

We're hoping to make this a regular monthly event here at MYMHM, so for our inaugural run we're celebrating the Academy Awards! The awards show is March 7th, so we're going to do our movie get together on March 6th as a movie hors d'oeuvres.

What movie will we be watching?

In honor of Kathryn Bigelow's historic DGA win (and the fact that most of the MYMHM team did miss this flick) we're going to be starting 'The Hurt Locker' at 7pm pst. Everyone will need their own copy, and we'll be starting the film all at the same time!

Where can you join us?

We debated quite a bit as to what platform to use. We initially thought Twitter, but it's a little restricting, and we feel it would get too spammy for your other followers who weren't involved. Instead we're going to see if we can find a useful outlet for Google Wave. You'll need to send us an email through our contact page to let us know if you're going to participate so we can add you to the Wave.

So, to recap:

What: MYMHM Monthly Movie View-Along featuring 'The Hurt locker'

When: Saturday March 6th @ 7pm pst

Where: Google Wave (moviesyoumayhavemissed@googlewave.com)

What you'll need: A Google Wave account (we know people with spare invites) and a copy of The Hurt Locker.

Hope you can join us!

It's rare that we get to see a performer of this caliber carry a movie entirely on his or her own, and Rockwell certainly rises to the occasion. This man is LONG overdue for an Academy Award nomination (and can someone post a better picture of him up on IMDB...).

Now with that out of the, let's dig into the 2009 Science Fiction CLASSIC 'Moon'!
